When I first rushed AKPsi, I was uncertain about my professional direction and still searching for a sense of belonging at WashU. Three years later, I’ve grown into the person my freshman self only hoped to become. Serving as president and giving back to the chapter that shaped me has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my college journey. This chapter has not only enabled me to be confident and determined in everything I do, but it has also clarified my career aspirations and led me to my dream field. When I was rushing, I was told, “The brothers are going to be your greatest professional mentors, but they will be your friends first and foremost.” That could not be any more true, as AKPsi has given me platonic soulmates who support me unconditionally.
